Thanks for the kind words! It's nice to know that there are others out there that didn't end up falling into one of two categories after researching Wicca: 1. sucked in and trying to abide all of the rules, or 2. completely turned off to all religion. You're completely right, there's just so much out there to read on the topic!

I like this post.....my husband and I have chose Buddhism as the "religion" that fits our belief.....but in my younger years I did do some minimal research on Wica. There is a TON of interesting stuff there! Honestly, to this day whenever I have a green candle I'll put a star formation of coins around it (and one coin under it). I've read this is kind of like a money "prayer", or asking the universe for money or however you would like to word it. It really just comforts me to know there is a "universe" to ask and then shortly there-after a solution presents itself (money wise).

Keep on keepin' on!

Thanks! I would be lying if I didn't say I was all-out nervous about the entire process. Doing a job where I wake up each day not knowing what is going on is severely unlike me, but I suppose it's the more uncomfortable situations that teach us the most. :-)

I love the quote “We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey.” ~Kenji Miyazawa.

My teacher Mr. David Heise sent me that quote after my 17 year old cousin, Christopher Cervini, was shot and killed in April of 2009. Not only was he my cousin, but a bestfriend, a brother. It was and still is, absolutely devistating for me and my family.

Because of that quote I got a great idea for a song about my cousin... a song that I call "Burn it up."

A quote from song goes "If we use the power of tears, to find some good through the pain. We will survive through the years, and use heartbreak to our gain."
This quote was put on the back of my cousins gravestone.

I "burn it up" by writing music, my cousin loved that about me...

We all lose people in our lives, it is just how it works.... but if we can find any good through the pain, then we will find the will to go on, we will be "burning it up."

To view the song go to myspace.com/kaylincervini

I tried a raisin bread recipe where you had to add the raisins during one of the rising cycles. It didn't go so well. We ended up with all the raisins at the bottom. BUT it still tastes really good. :-) Joe's using it for his PB&J for work today.

Funny, it is one of those festivals that tends to get passed by, that and Imbolc. I'm interested in what you come up with. I think your investigation might cause me to look into it a little too. I like your wheat decoration idea!

Yeah, come August 1st, I doubt we'll have anything ready for harvest then either. We have tomatoes growing, but sooo slow and who knows if they'll get red by then. All and all, we've come to the conclusion that we will get a harvest this year, it'll just be really late and pretty small. Heck, I'll take whatever I can get. :)

OH! Tell me how the baking bread in the oven goes! I've been wanting to use the machine for the dough process with bread and then put it in the oven, just never done it. So if you do, please let me know how it goes! :)
